A Dream is Born and Opens Its Doors
Alquímico opened its doors in early 2016 in the heart of Cartagena's historic center. Five people united with a shared dream: to celebrate Colombia's biodiversity, showcase the country's wonders, and create memorable experiences guided by respect for the land and community work.
Resilience and the #FromTheBarToTheFarm Project
During the pandemic, half of the team moved to the farm in the Eje Cafetero (#FromTheBarToTheFarm). There, they learned to work the land, reconnect with the origin of ingredients, and consolidate a conscious hospitality model, also entering The World's 50 Best Bars for the first time and winning the award for the World's Most Sustainable Bar.
Partnerships with ASOCOMAN and Montes de María
A direct support network is woven with the Agro-Livestock Association Comunidad El Mango Macaján (ASOCOMAN), integrating peasant families who are guardians of the territory and produce organically.
Musical Partnership with Colectivo Canta
Collaborative work begins with the musical foundation of the Nelson Mandela neighborhood in Cartagena, providing training, spaces, and opportunities for children and youth through music as a tool for social transformation.
Artisanal Identity with the Embera Chamí Community
A fair collaboration is established with 20 indigenous Embera Chamí families for the artisanal creation of hand-woven necklaces that are part of the team's identity and uniform.
A Living Network of Conscious Hospitality
Alquímico formally consolidates as an ecosystem of more than 100 people and allied communities, demonstrating that hospitality gains meaning when shared, cared for, and celebrated hand-in-hand with the territory and its people.
